Chrome River

Chrome River provides online expense reporting, invoice management, and a full suite of software-as-a-service financial tools. I have been working with the company since 2010 when I handled the original redesign of their website.

Following the success of the original project and building on a well-established relationship, Chrome River asked me once more to perform a website refresh that would take advantage of all the recent technological advances.

Visual Refresh

The refresh process started with the brand’s visual language. Across the board updates help identify it as innovative, smart, fun, and not too corporate – a welcome breath of fresh air given the inherent stuffiness in the domain of finances. While the resulting look is new and modern, it maintains clear ties to the original materials in order to leverage existing brand equity.

For a cohesive new look, not just the website, but all of the company’s marketing materials – from white papers to trade booths to internal office templates – have been updated as well.

UX Refresh

We’ve made the most of this redesign opportunity by tweaking and improving on certain aspects of the informational architecture, with an eye towards complete mobile compatibility and future-proofing. The entire process had the end customer in mind by placing clear and concise information at their fingertips while simultaneously providing clear paths and visual cues to delve deeper into details as needed.

The existing CMS system was updated as well, along with any other third-party integrations, including a complete set of custom HubSpot templates.

Results

After a well-coordinated launch, the complete design refresh was met with outstanding reviews by company members, partners, and customers, while opening new avenues of opportunity on mobile devices. If the previous redesign was any indication, this one will also provide a stable platform for success for many years to come.
